MIKVEH
photographic serie (2014)
analog
This series includs photographs of my brother and my father. What interested me is the way my brother is structuring his body in relation to the body expression of my father. There are similitudes, there is a transmission of a history in the body. How does the body of my brother take shape in relation to this transmission?
I chose this title, because in stories of the jewish litterature in Eastern Europe I was reading during my childhood, fathers and sons were used to go to Mikveh together (a bath used for the purpose of ritual immersion in Judaism). I see it as a sacred bath between them, a bath of transmission.
